I lost my Heart in SFO, Northbrook...do I need to go on

I ventured into the surreal world of yuppieville last night to see one of my favorites. Tony Bennett. You know that smooth voice, the songs about loosing his heart in SFO, the romance of longing and want. The songs that I practiced and practiced on the piano in my parent's living room at the age of nine. A flat, C sharp......AAAHHH - what was I thinking?

I went with Snooz, CP and my legal wonder and did the whole Ravinia experience. If you have never experienced Ravinia, I have to say it is worth it on all counts. It is cheap, fun and the coolest place ever to people watch. Every shape, every kind, every breathe is walking around you enjoying the music. There are two kinds of people. The lawn group and the money group. The money refers to the people that sit in the pavilion and then there are the rest of us. I have done both and I can tell you the lawn is where it is happening. That is where you meet fun, cool, interesting people. I have been doing this since I was a teenager and I have all of the necessities as they say to make it a night you will never forget:) The low to the ground table, candles, folding chairs, tons of food and of course the wine. If you have been you can relate...it is what Chicago folks call, the experience. You are lugging basically your life from the car to the event. Once they let you in people scramble to find space on usually a soggy lawn and then you become territorial. This is my area. It is crazy but I love it. You know...where you are actually sitting so close to the next group that you know who they are sleeping with, who is having an affair with whom, what they did at work today and of course the jokes.

Though the one good advantage of this night was that both Snooz and I had...... dynamite views of a certain look a like for her and a verrrryyyy badddddddd Motley Crue look alike for me! Deliciously seductive and he grabbed my.....eye. :)

It was an experience because as soon as I started to relax with a glass of wine, I started getting the worst cramps I ever had experienced. Like waves of thunder. And they lasted......
Ended up leaving early though the clan was fine with it. I know they were disappointed that I ended it but I really thought I was going to die and unfortunately, I was the driver.

Lesson learned - don't eat the salad at work.
