8:44 a.m. - 2007-09-24 They spent the next day looking at linden trees and lamb ears, exploring books and eating chocolate. He spoke of his worldly travels, of kingdoms filled with colors and smells, of animals racing in the snow and Capricorns dancing on Mountains. He told her of trees that were so tall that they touched God, of wine made in South Africa, of the great artists and composers from the past and how all of it enriched his soul. She listened intently to his stories, never leaving his gaze, though she could offer him nothing in return but herself. She knew that this prince was only stopping by briefly....in mind and spirit...that his heart belonged to a different time and place and that this moment was just a gift to her, a lesson of some sort. Knowingly....she said good-bye to him without words…with all the goodness she held within, wishing him the quiet strength to achieve all of his dreams, the health to slay dragons and the depth within to love forever. As the sun kissed the day goodnight and the stars came out like jewels of fire, she quietly looks backs at it all and asks the wind to whisper within his ear a message.... ”I will remember you” Now more than ever - I do - So much time has passed and though we don't speak or write at all, I know you think of me; today showed me that. And though you will never see this entry.... I think of you and the universe knows that. You were right when you said you never met such an open person. That night at my house when I cooked for you and we talked...that was better than SFO, Tampa, Sarasota.... and you are right. I do love deeply, I feel it all with my soul and generously give to those whom I trust. I will cherish our "golden threads" you spoke of now more than ever. Your honesty and your word means even more now to me. You said what you meant and you did what you said. You truly taught me how to be lady! And I can never thank you enough for the elegance you brought into my life. So when you looked at me last with that direct look only you can give to me, I counted (One one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand in my hearts of hearts) and in all seriousness I actually read your mind. "You were something special to me ko and I will never forget you." And it was as clear as day. Like you were talking to me without you saying a word. I will never forget that moment and yes - without a doubt - I will remember you.
